A bottle for Old Jed

A bottle for Old Jed is a side-quest in the prologue of the game.

Quick walkthrough[]

Talk to Old Jed in his home in Easthaven. (optional)
Buy a bottle of wine in Pomab's Emporium. (optional)
Give the bottle to Old Jed, or convince him to stop drinking.

Walkthrough[]

When you enter Old Jed's home in Easthaven and talk to Old Jed there, he tells you that the local barkeeper Grisella has cut him off because he drinks too much.

There are two ways to complete the quest:

Buy him alcohol:
Leave Old Jed's home and walk over to Pomab's Emporium to the north-east of it. Buy a Bottle of Wine from Pomab there (it costs 3 ). Return to Old Jed and give him the bottle.

Convince him to give up drinking:
The dialog option for this only comes up if the party member you selected to talk to Old Jed has at least 16 INT and at least 15 CHA:

The barkeep says I be drinkin' too much. What does she know? I've only overturned my boat three... well, four times. Anyway, I need me wine to fish proper-like.

The wine isn't really what you need. It is just a symbol of your lost youth and your failure to accomplish all that you wanted to in the short span of time that you have in this desolate wasteland, this... this, Easthaven. The bottle is your prison, a cornucopia of sanguinary delight that represents all of your problems in this world. Seriously. [INT 16+, CHA 15+]
