Arrows are the most basic ammunition for short bows, long bows, and composite long bows.

The flight arrow, as its name implies, is built for distance. These are lightweight arrows and are often used for hunting. Most of these arrows are made of ash or birch and are 30 to 40 inches long.

The basic, non-magical variant deals 1d6 missile damage (plus a damage bonus from the bow, in the case of composite longbows and some magical bows).

Like with other conventional missile weapons such as bullets and bolts, every attack with a bow and arrows uses up one arrow, and used arrows cannot be recovered.

  • Various enemies attack with bow and arrow, and only switch to melee once they've emptied their quiver. If you can kill them before that happens, any remaining arrows can be looted from their bodies.
