A Battle Axe is a robust war axe wielded in one hand. Weapon and general stores carry battle axes for about 5-7gp.

Description[]

The most common version of the battle axe is a stout pole about four feet in length with a single-edged, trumpet-shaped blade mounted on one end. Battle axes are also called broad axes.

Properties[]

A standard battle axe deals a base 1d8 (1-8) slashing damage, has a speed factor of 7, and a minimum strength requirement of 10EE only.

Although battle axes deal slightly less damage than Two-Handed Axes, they have a faster speed factor, and can be wielded in one hand, allowing the use of a shield (or dual-wieldingEE only). The only other downside is the reduced range, forcing the user to get up close to their target.
