Beltyn's Burning Blood is a level 4 arcane spell from the Necromancy school in Icewind Dale.

For clarification: when this spell's description states that "the target gets to save vs. Spell every round; if successful, the damage and berserk state are negated", it only applies to that specific round. So this spell will always affect a target (unless it's blocked by magic resistance or they're undead/elementals etc.), forcing the victim to save every single round (against the fire damage and berserk effect simultaneously) until the duration is over. This means that even if a creature makes the save in one round, they might fail in one or more of the following rounds, as the spell doesn't simply end as soon as one save is made.

Moreover, a character with 100% fire resistance can still be affected by the berserk status effect on a failed save, even if that doesn't make much sense (as the victim wouldn't be "berserk with pain").

Description[]

This spell turns a target's blood to flame, doing 3d4 Hit Points of damage every round and driving the victim berserk with pain. The target gets to save vs. Spell every round; if successful, the damage and berserk state are negated. This spell does not work against undead or extraplanar creatures that do not have blood (such as elementals). If the creature is resistant to fire, this resistance will lower or nullify the damage from this spell.
