BioWare is the game development studio that created the Infinity Engine and several of the games that use it.

The company is based in Edmonton, Canada, and was founded in February 1995 by Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk, and Augustine Yip.
It is now one of the most well-know game development studios in the world.

The other two studios that developed Infinity Engine games are Black Isle Studios and Beamdog. The sequel to Neverwinter Nights ended up being developed by Obsidian Entertainment.
BioWare went on to develop many other games, including Knights of the old Republic, the Dragon Age series, and the Mass Effect series.
