Challenging Presio to a duel

Challenge Presio to a duel is an optional quest that was added in the Enhanced Edition.

Quick walkthrough[]

Talk to the last Undead Lieutenant in level 3 of Dragon's Eye with a mage or paladin, and propose a duel.
Defeat Presio with only that party member.

Walkthrough[]

When chapter 2 takes you to Dragon's Eye, level 3, you are accosted by a series of Undead Lieutenants – animated vessels through which a mysterious necromancer speaks to you.

The fifth (and last) Undead Lieutenant waits just before the bridge that crosses the stream in the bottom-right part of the map. It initiates conversation with the first member of your party who enters its line of sight – if you want to do this side-quest, make sure that this party member is either:

a Paladin (but not a Blackguard), or
a Mage (single-, multi-, or dual-class) or Sorcerer.

In the conversation with this last Undead Lieutenant, you can challenge the necromancer to a 1-on-1 duel – provided that the speaking party member has one of the above-mentioned classes:

You and your vile unholy faith will now come to a terrible end, paladin. Do not beg for mercy when my poison consumes you.

Come then, witch, and face me in single combat. Let us test my righteous faith against your twisted arts.

Yes! I relish the thought of personally burying my mace in your head. If you have allies, move them away from the bridge. I will meet you there.

I will fight you with honor. You have my word.

Ah, you have done most excellently, my friend. For your appreciation of the dark arts, I will kill you last.

Then face me on your own. Or must you hide behind your minions?

Hmm. Intriguing. I am quite confident in my abilities. If you truly seek this, I will accept. If you have any allies out there, move them away from the bridge. When I see that they are gone, I will meet you there for our... sport.

I agree. I'll do it.

As soon as you agree to the duel, the necromancer – Presio – disappears from her usual location (inside her room), and instead appears at (2780, 2414) (right across the bridge from you).

If you want to go through with the duel, cross the bridge with only the party member who accepted the duel. (Walk on the left side of the bridge to avoid a floor trap.)
On the other side of the bridge, Presio attacks you as soon as she sees you.

If any other party members attack Presio or cross the bridge while Presio is still alive, the duel is cancelled and Presio considers you a cheater.

As long as you are dueling Presio, she casts a reduced set of spells, in the following order:

You win by killing Presio without cancelling the duel.
When you've won, the message "You challenged Presio to single combat and prevailed." appears on the screen, and you get 1,800 exp.

This quest originated from the mod Unfinished Business for IWD (component "Presio's Duel"), but was incorporated into to the official game by the Enhanced Edition.
