Food for Tarnelm is an optional quest in chapter 6a of Icewind Dale.

- Talk to Tarnelm in the Oubliette of Lower Dorn's Deep. (optional)
- Find the Sack of Potatoes on floor 2 of Marketh's Palace.
- Bring it to Tarnelm.
Walkthrough[]
This quest if offered by the gnome Tarnelm in the Oubliette of Lower Dorn's Deep. Ask him what can be done to ease the gnomes' suffering, and he confides that fear and hunger are their constant companions. He asks you to find some food for them.
(He also suggests killing the salamanders at the top of the elevator, but doing so has no effect on this or any other quest).
The food, a Sack of Potatoes, can be found in a cupboard next to the cook in the staff quarters of Marketh's Palace.
Bring the sack to Tarnelm to complete the quest for 80,000 exp.
