Getting Brother Perdiem's badge is a step of the main quest in chapter 6a of Icewind Dale.

- Make your way to the Fallen Temple of Lower Dorn's Deep.
- Destroy the Corrupting Idol.
- Talk to Brother Perdiem[1] to get Brother Perdiem's Badge.
Walkthrough[]
The Fallen Temple can be reached via the top-right tunnel in the garden of Marketh's Palace.[2]
The temple is full of hostile undead. You can fight them all if you want the kill XP, but this is not necessary for completing the quest. Instead, notice that in addition to the undead creatures, the temple also contains five mind-controlled but non-hostile human priests:
- Brother Perdiem (in the center) initiates conversation if you get close, and espouses a corrupted version of the Ilmateri faith.
- Brother Harken (bottom-right) lets you complete an optional quest, if you talk to him before the battle is over:
Available side-quest The Voice of Durdel Anatha [EE only] (630000 exp, + ? in Kuldahar) - The other three priests only spout gibberish when talked to.
The goal here is to destroy the Corrupting Idol (tooltip "The Idol") at the top of the map. It can be attacked like any other enemy.
Once the idol's hit points have been reduced to zero, its power is broken:
- All surviving undead enemies in the area die instantly.[3]
- The surviving priests regain control of their minds.
Talk to Brother Perdiem again, to get his badge and optionally learn a bit about how he and the other priests came to be here. (Or if you accidentally killed him during the battle, just pick up the badge from his corpse.)
Obtaining the badge gets you 150,000 exp.
Notice that at the top of the map, behind the idol, is a not-yet-accessible circular staircase, and on the ground below it six switches with the symbols of the six lieutenant badges. This is where you will need to come back to later for the main quest step Confronting Revered Brother Poquelin.
But first, seek out the next badge:
