The Giant Halberd is a nonmagical Halberd with increased damage and several negative effects.
Properties[]
Compared to a normal halberd, the giant variant requires more strength to wield but deals higher damage (2d8 instead of 1d10), and has a Speed Factor of 8 (instead of 9). It also has an increased weight (21 lbs. instead of 11 lbs.)
The increased damage comes at a cost; this halberd applies penalties of +2 to the wielders Armor Class and +1 to their THAC0.
Description[]
“ | By far the oldest and most often used pole-arm, the halberd consists of a cleaver-like axe blade mounted on a staff averaging six feet in length. The axe blade is balanced at the rear with a fluke, and surmounted by a sharp spike, usually of quadrangular design. The fluke is sometimes replaced by a hook used to dismount cavalry. A halberd can be best described as a cross between a spear and an axe. | ” |
