The Lyre of Progression is a musical instrument that allows bards to memorize additional spells.
Description[]
“ | The Lyre of Progression was created by the bard Sedini Paletto. Sedini was a teacher of young aspiring bards during difficult times. This instrument, held close at all times, helped Sedini fight off those who would attack him or his students. When Sedini grew old, he passed it on to his best student, Galwen Alaman. Galwen continued teaching for a few years before setting out into the wilderness on a life of adventure. It is believed that he lost the lyre when he accidentally dropped it in a marsh. | ” |
Properties[]
When equipped, the lyre allows the wielder to memorize:
- 2 additional 2nd-level spells, and
- 1 additional 3rd-level spell.
Note : it is equipped in the shield slot. So it works only when wielding one-handed weapons in the main hand, otherwise (when wielding two-handed or ranged weapons) it is not considered to be equipped. If the item is unequipped after the additional spells have been memorized, the bard will lose access to the extra spells as if they had been already cast for the day.
