Myrkul's Sending is a powerful greater shadow.
Location[]
He is encountered on level 1 of Kresselack's Tomb, near a statue of Myrkul atop the stairs on the northern part of the level.
Interaction[]
On approaching the stairs leading to the statue of Myrkul, the party encounters this apparition, which attacks them. It is accompanied by a number of skeleton warriors. On being destroyed, it drops the Ring of Shadows.
Strategy[]
Being a greater shadow, it is immune to normal weapons. Thus in order to hit it, one must use weapons having +1 or greater enchantment. The magical weapons created by the spells Shillelagh and Spiritual Hammer are also effective in hitting it. Offensive spells like Magic Missile, Chromatic Orb, Sunscorch and Magical Stone are very effective against it, especially the last two, since they also deal additional damage against undead. Myrkul's Sending can also be turned, but needs a high level (at least 10 in Normal difficulty) for that to happen.
