Mythal Lore is a side quest that can be started in chapter 1+ and completed in chapter 3+.
Quick Walkthrough[]
- Talk to Orrick the Gray in his study in Kuldahar.
- Get the Mythal Theory book from Custhantos in the library of the Severed Hand.
- Deliver the book to Orrick.
Walkthrough[]
Talk to Orrick the Gray in his tower in Kuldahar, and ask him about his work.
He tells you that he has spent over ten years traveling, searching for material relating to mythals, powerful wards erected over large areas. His research has led him to the Spine of the World mountains, where he believes a lost elven outpost may exist. He goes on to ask that you bring him anything you find on the subject.
In chapter 3, the plot takes you to the Severed Hand fortress. There, find your way into Labelas Tower. On the library level of that tower, speak to the undead librarian Custhantos and ask to "borrow" the book named Mythal Theory.
Once back in Kuldahar, bring the book to Orrick and go through the dialog "Tell me again..." to get 24,000 exp as well as one of:
- The Elfbone Ring of Kiran-Hai (33% chance)
- Mithran's Cloak (33% chance)
- Girdle of Labelas (33% chance)
