The Oubliette of Lower Dorn's Deep is a crystal mine that you can visit in chapter 6a of Icewind Dale.
Description[]
Only accessible via a lift from Durdel Anatha above, this cave is where Marketh keeps svirfneblin slaves that are too weak to work in the Lower Dorn Mines.
Even here, the svirfneblin are apparently put to work mining the shimmering blue crystals. Some of them have already fallen unconscious from exhaustion or malnutrition.

Tarnelm, one of the slaves, approaches you when you first enter, and can give you the quest:
