Retrieving razorvine extract is a side-quest in chapter 4 of Icewind Dale.
Quick walkthrough[]
- Talk to Bandoth in his tower in Upper Dorn's Deep. (optional)
- Pick up the bottle from the corpse in the near-by ettin cave.
- Return it to Bandoth.
Walkthrough[]
When you talk to Bandoth in his tower, and avoid aggravating him, you can ask him for information on how to get deeper into the dwarven complex. He demands that you complete a task for him first: Help his apprentice whom he sent out to find razorvine extract.
Leave Bandoth's tower, and walk down to the southern edge of the large Dorn's Deep entry cavern to find the entrance to the ettin cave. Enter it.
Inside the cave, four hostile ettins are standing over the corpse of Bandoth's assistant. After dealing with the ettins, loot the Container of Razorvine Extract from that corpse.
Return to Bandoth and give him the razorvine extract. He rewards you with 42,000 exp, and by telling you about:
- The bridge to the barracks (main hall) of Upper Dorn's Deep.
- The secret door leading from the barracks to the dwarven puzzle room.
(All information that you would have figured out yourself by exploring diligently, but oh well.)
