Retrieving the Heartstone Gem is a step of the main quest in chapter 2 of Icewind Dale.

- Defeat Yxunomei and pick up the Heartstone Gem.
Walkthrough[]
Travel to Dragon's Eye via the world map. When you first arrive, chapter 2 of the game begins.
The cave network is multiple levels deep, and each level is large and packed with enemies – but there are also some side quests. See Dragon's Eye#Maps, and the articles linked from there, for details.
Along the way, you may learn that the monsters assembled here are part of, or allied with, an army serving "Yxunomei".
Once you reach the lowest level, level 5, the villain taunts you in the form of a little girl. Make your way to the large room at the end of the main corridor ("head of the snake"), to find Yxunomei in her true form.
She initiates dialog, but does not reveal much. Defeat her and her minions in the ensuing combat, and then pick up the Heartstone Gem from her corpse to receive 13,000 exp.
With the Heartstone Gem in your inventory, return to Kuldahar:
