Icewind Dale Wiki

Sehanine Tower was the weapons tower of the Hand of the Seldarine, but was destroyed long before the events of the Icewind Dale game.

Name[]

It was named after Sehanine Moonbow, the elven goddess of the moon.

Use[]

During the time of the Hand of the Seldarine, the wizards of Labelas Tower worked in Sehanine Tower to magically enchant weapons.

Most of the Hand's weapons were also stored here.

Destruction[]

In the last days of the Hand of the Seldarine, the elves of the Hand realized they were losing the battle against the invading horde of orcs and goblins.

They devised a desperate plan: They rigged all the magical weapons in Sehanine Tower to release their magical energy, and one elite elven soldier, Lethias, lured as many of the enemy horde into the tower as he could. The tower exploded, killing Lethias and many orcs and goblins.

Aftermath[]

During the Icewind Dale game[]

When the party arrives at the elven fortress (now called the Severed Hand), nothing of Sehanine Tower is left. On level 4 of the Hand, the corridor that once led to Sehanine Tower is collapsed. However, Lethias is still there – returned in undead form, standing in front of the collapsed corridor.
