Level 2a of the Severed Hand is the second level the party visits.

Description[]

It covers about 2/3rd of the base tower's second floor, and is shaped similarly to level 1a.

The eastern 1/3rd of the floor, level 2b, is only accessible via level 3 (main section).

Exits[]

Central staircase: up to level 3 (main section)
Northwest ramp: back down to level 1a
West ramp: up to level 3 (north section)
South makeshift stairs: back down to level 1a

Plot[]

During chapter 3 of the game, you need to fight your way through this level in order to reach level 3.

Enemies[]

The level has 56 hostile creatures, regardless of the difficulty setting:

The Jester's Bag of Holding can be looted from the Shadowed Goblin Trainer.

Each time you rest here, up to 4 additional Shadowed Orc Grunts or Shadowed Orc Archers can spawn.

Hazards[]

  • West corridor ambush:
When a party member first steps near the middle of the open area on the western edge (where a single Shadowed Goblin Warrior is standing), 14 enemies appear in that area out of thin air:
  • 1 Shadowed Goblin Trainer
  • 13 Shadowed Worgs
  • North room ambush:
When a party member first steps into the northern-most room, 16 enemies appear out of thin air and run towards the party:
  • 2 Shadowed Orc Shamans (one inside the room, one outside)
  • 2 Shadowed Goblin Warriors (at the room's entrance)
  • 12 Shadowed Goblin Warriors (further south, in 3 groups, running towards you)

No floor traps.
