A Short sword is a common one-handed sword of short length, used for thrusting rather than slashing. Weapon and general stores carry short swords for around 11-15.
Description[]
“ | The short sword is the first type of sword to come into existence. In the simplest of terms, a short sword can be considered a dagger with a blade so long that it can no longer be called a dagger. The term short sword does not exist in sword classifications. However, it has come to be used to describe a double-edged blade about two feet in length. The sword tip is usually pointed, ideal for thrusting. | ” |
Properties[]
A standard short sword deals a base 1d6 (1-6) piercing damage, has a speed factor of 3, and a minimum strength requirement of 5EE only.
A short sword is slightly slower, heavier, more expensive, and requires more strength to wieldEE only than the similar Dagger, but deals slightly higher damage. Although the damage is middling, a short swords fast speed factor of 3 allows a player to potentially strike an opponent first, and then retreat before being struck in return. This weapon is wielded in one hand.
