A walkthrough for each of these side-quests follows:

Snowytoes Hamlet[]

  • When Hog Beesponge told you about Snowytoes Hamlet (see #How to get there above), he also promised you a gift if you visit him.
  • Talk to Hog Beesponge again in Snowytoes Hamlet (outdoors during day-time, or in his hut at night).
You receive a magical belt[1] – or an even better magic belt[2] if your party leader[3] is a halfling.

Where are these glasses?[]

  • Talk to "Old Mister Broomdust" outside the top-left house in Snowytoes Hamlet.
He tells you that he lost his glasses.
Promise to look for them – this turns several rocks on the Snowytoes Hamlet outdoors map into lootable containers.
  • Pick up the "Glasses"[4] from the rock at (1850, 100) near the top-center map exit.
  • Bring them to Old Mister Broomdust.
    You receive 3800 exp.

Hidden Tragedy[]

  • After completing "Where are these glasses?", Old Mister Broomdust asks you not to tell his son about his deteriorating memory.
  • Enter the Broomdusts' house in Snowytoes Hamlet, to join a conversation between them.
Regardless of your dialog choices you get 200 exp; if you mention the old man's condition, you additionally get +1 reputation.

The Peeler of All Apples[]

  • Talk to Naelän Redgrass in the bottom-right portion of Snowytoes Hamlet while you have the dagger Applebane in your inventory.
She offers to upgrade it for you, and tells you what she needs for that.
  • Bring the sand to Naelän Redgrass, and agree to pay her fee of 5000 gp.
You get the improved dagger[6] and 1000 exp.

Young Archeologists[]

  • After you've done some of the other Snowytoes Hamlet mini-quests[7], Velamie Patchandee appears near the bottom-left village entrance and initiates conversation when she sees you.
She gives you two "Snack" quest items, and asks you to deliver them to her two sons on their archeological expeditions.
  • Return to Snowytoes Hamlet, to find both sons have returned here as well.
Velamie Patchandee initiates dialoig, and you can witness their reuinion.
You receive 7500 exp and a magic amulet[8].

Deliver of Yondalla's Symbol to Lonelywood[]

  • Talk to Keedie Codslurp, who stands near the pillars circle in Snowytoes Hamlet during day-time[9].
He asks you to deliver a holy shield to a buyer in Lonelywood.
  • CHOICE: Buy the shield yourself
    • You can convince him to sell it to you instead, for 4000 gp. You get the shield[10] and 5000 exp, and the quest ends.
  • CHOICE: Deliver the shield
    • He gives you the shield[10]. Take it with you when you start the Heart of Winter expansion via Hjollder.
    • Deliver the shield to Remen Bebee on the upper floor of the Whistling Gallows inn in Lonelywood. He gives you the quest item "Goods"[11] in return.
    • Bring the goods to Keedie Codslurp in Snowytoes Hamlet.
You receive 5000 exp, 350 gp, and a magic wand[12].

History of the Drow II[]

  • Talk to Boodynka in her house in Snowytoes Hamlet.
She asks you for the book "History of the Drow II".
  • Bring the book to Boodynka.
You receive 4200 exp and a stat tome[13].

Nightmares Under the Snow[]

  • Talk to Elder O'Kemmy in the right-most house in Snowytoes Hamlet.
She tells you about her nightmares featuring a nearby valley.
Agree to check it out, and she marks "Starpool Valley" on your worldmap.
  • Travel to Starpool Valley via the worldmap, and refer to the #Starpool Valley section below for the remainder of this quest's walkthrough.

Starpool Valley[]

This wilderness area near Snowytoes Hamlet is added to your worldmap when you accept the quest #Nightmares Under the Snow (see above).

Outdoors[]

Snowytoes Hamlet mod Starpool Valley outdoors map

You arrive in the bottom-left portion, and are greeted by a fleeing Npc iconpoacher. He tells you that the recent weather changes have uncovered a black pyramid, and warns you to stay away. Ignore him.

There are a bunch of Enemy iconenemies to fight here ("Enraged Polar Bear", "Deathly Wight", "Tar Creature"), and two Container icon corpses to loot for minor treasure.

Enter the black pyramid in the center of the map. You find yourself in a small crypt:

Black Pyramid ► entrance crypt[]

Click the sarcophagus here once, and an ominous voice taunts you: "Welcome, [name]. Are you ready to plunge into the tar of despair? I dare you."

Click the sarcophagus again, and your party is teleported to:

Black Pyramid ► portals level[]

Snowytoes Hamlet mod Starpool Valley portals map

The invisible "Pyramid's Voice" taunts you some more, here.

This map is crawling with 18 spider-like Enemy iconenemies ("Tar Harvestman", 1000 exp each), who start out invisible and swarm you. Defeat them.

Once they are all dead, four portals appear.
Enter each portal, in turn, to get to the:

Black Pyramid ► side crypts[]

Each of these four side-crypts contains a "Tar Man", who are all physical incarnations of the same power.
Each of them initiates dialog and explains some background lore (it doesn't matter what you say).
In the first three side-crypts you visit, he then attacks, forcing you to kill him (6000 exp each time); the fourth time, he just kills himself.

When you return to the portals level after dealing with the fourth Tar Man, you find that a new portal has appeared in the center of the level. Take it to get to:

Black Pyramid ► lower level[]

Snowytoes Hamlet mod Starpool Valley boss map

Walk towards the center of this level, and the "Source of the Voice" initiates dialog.
You learn that the Black Pyramid is causing Elder O'Kemmy's nightmares in order to feed on her fear and despair.

The Voice then offers you a deal: In exchange for a reward, it wants you to leave peacefully and tell O'Kemmy the truth that her ex-husband is dead – so that it can feed on her even more effectively.
You have two options:

  • CHOICE: Accept the deal
A new portal appears (where you entered the level), that takes you back outdoors.
Return to Elder O'Kemmy in her home in Snowytoes Hamlet, and tell her about her dead ex-husband.
Then return to the "Source of the Voice" inside the Black Pyramid.
You receive 5000 exp per party member, -1 reputation, and your party leader[14] learns a new innate ability[15].
  • CHOICE: Refuse the deal
If you refuse, the Voice summons four tough enemies ("Mëlhed's Despair", "Mëlhed's Sadness", "Mëlhed's Misery", "Mëlhed's Anger") that you must fight.
Once they are dead, the Voice initiates dialog again to tell you that you defeated the Pyramid.
A new portal appears (where you entered the level), that takes you back outdoors.
Report back to Elder O'Kemmy in her home in Snowytoes Hamlet.
    You receive:
    • 5600 exp per party member, 2000 gp — if you tell her about her dead ex-husband.
    • 5000 exp per party member, 2000 gp, +1 reputation — if you don't mention her husband.
