Therik is the leading guardian of the Eastern Crypt, a large skeletal undead.
Location[]
Therik is located inside the Eastern Crypt at (650, 725), within view of the party when they enter.
Conversation[]
Each time you enter the Eastern Crypt you will be engaged in conversation with Therik. Exploring his dialogue options reveals that the crypt is guarded by Therik and his "brethren", the other undead there, who are followers of the god Myrkul, Lord of the Dead.
Eventually you'll be faced with two options: Leave, or Stay. Attempting to leave while in possession of the Gate Key causes him to demand the key from the party. When questioned, he will say only that it unlocks "the tomb", and that you must not enter there as it is forbidden.
Failure to either hand over the key when asked, or declaring that you won't leave, will cause Therik to become hostile and attack.
Combat[]
Therik possesses no spell casting or ranged attacks, and will simply move towards the party and engage with melee attacks. He does, however, hit reasonably hard and have significant damage resistance to Slashing and Missile damage.
Loot[]
One of Therik's drops is a Random Treasure, from the following list:
- Phase Dagger
- Finest Halberd
- Ring of the Warrior
- Potion of Action Transference
- Flawless Two-Handed Axe
The other item (a weapon) has a decent chance of being a High Quality version.
Additionally, if the Gate Key was given to him prior to his death, he'll drop that too.
