A Two-Handed Sword (originally Two Handed Sword) is an exceptionally large sword wielded in two hands. Weapon and general stores carry two-handed swords for around 56-75.
Description[]
“ | The two-handed sword is a derivative of the long sword. Weaponsmiths have always looked for ways to improve existing weapons. In an effort to improve the long sword, the blade was lengthened. Eventually, the handle had to be extended and two hands became necessary to properly swing the sword. The primary function of two-handed swords is cleaving mounted knights and breaking up pike formations. | ” |
Properties[]
A standard two-handed sword deals a base 1d10 (1-10) slashing damage, has a speed factor of 10, and a minimum strength requirement of 14EE only.
A two-handed sword is slower, heavier, more expensive, and requires a higher strengthEE only than other one handed sword variants, but deals slightly higher damage. In addition, while it requires two hands to wield, preventing the use of a shield, it has an extended range of 2 feet which allows the user to potentially strike foes while protected behind fellow party members.
Compared to the similar Two-Handed Axe, two-handed swords are slower, heavier, much more expensive, and require a higher strengthEE only. Also, while it shares the same weight as Halberds, halberds deal piercing damage instead of slashing, and two-handed swords are slower, much more expensive, and require more strength to wieldEE only.
