This room contains the machinery for the retracting stairs of the puzzle room above it.

The party must travel through here in chapter 4 in order to get to the Great Forge and beyond.
Dver's corpse, and Dver's Note, lie on the floor near a trap – containing a hint that steers you towards Getting Krilag's badge in case you have not already done so.
