A War Hammer is a robust hammer head mounted onto a medium-length shaft and wielded in one hand. Weapon and general stores carry war hammers for around 2-3.
Description[]
“ | Mounted knights cannot effectively use long pole weapons while on horseback, and as a result, many weapons have been fitted with shorter shafts so they may be wielded with just one hand. Maces and flails are two previous examples of this - the war hammer is another. The horseman's war hammer is the descendent of the Lucerne hammer. It is made entirely of steel, with rondels protecting and strengthening the grip. Rondels are small disks of metal, often shaped into decorative designs. The shaft is about 18 inches long. | ” |
Properties[]
A standard war hammer deals a base 1d4+1 (2-5) crushing damage, has a speed factor of 4, and a minimum strength requirement of 9EE only.
War hammers deal the least damage of any of the one-handed blunt weapons, and it's top-end base damage is only better than the standard Dagger in damage total. However, numerous war hammers with useful enchantments can be found throughout the game, including some granting additional divine spell slots aimed at the Cleric class.
